Eating on a Budget in Seoul Grocery Stores

View in HD for the best picture, and leave a comment! You can comment here or on endsofearth.com. South Koreans love free samples. Companies have caught onto this as a way to entice customers to purchase products. Restaurants and grocery stores, among many other businesses, make “free” samples a key part of their draw. You can take advantage of this by getting as many free samples as possible, yet not buying much. Watch the video to see how I did it. After getting a lot of free stuff, you feel compelled to purchase something (which is what companies want you to feel). Well, I felt compelled and made some purchases, but you can get a completely free lunch if you want!

Hon, if you play your cards right, you can eat ANY meal just by trying samples of stuff, in stores on days they put things and their new foods out! It’s a FAB way to eat your way to a full stomach, but yes … you REALLY should buy things, so as NOT to seem to mooch ;)
Lots of fun, for those of us who love the details :)
@Moniii17 Good luck! Let me know how it went!
Haha you’re a funny guy ! :) Liked your video!
I’m going to Seoul in 9 days! Can’t wait to go do the same! :P
haha….great video and you did a great job :)
thanks for the great video :D
Thanks! The Station is Seoul Station, not one of the derivatives. I forget the exit number, but Lotte is on the same side of the street as the actual Seoul train station. If you go to “Seoul Station,” you’ll have a difficult time missing Lotte. It is part of a huge shopping megaplex. Give this video–particularly the beginning where I am doing a 360 spin outside the store–a quick look before going, to see landmarks.
Where in downtown Seoul? station…exit #
apart from that.. great vlog… 5 stars :)
Koreatastic, thanks!
This is what happens when I make a video my first day in a new country without properly researching grocery store ownership history.
Let this be a lesson to all travelers everywhere.
